Loutka Royale Casino Hotel is a fictional destination built around the Czech puppet theatre—a craft of carved marionettes, painted backdrops and travelling family stages that is old enough and beloved enough to sit on the UNESCO list. Deep red velvet, gilt frames, carved wood and warm footlight run through the whole casino hotel, arranged like the wings of a theatre.
Watch a marionette rehearsal in the little house theatre by day. Wander corridors hung with a century of painted scenery. Then part the heavy curtain into our adults-only casino salon, lit low and red like a stage before the house lights drop. The kitchen keeps to the classic Czech table, roast duck and svickova and dumplings, honey cake to close, and the wine is Moravian. Curtain up at eight, a few steps from the casino hotel salon.
